What happens when we arrive
A jump start is quick, but we don't stop at getting the engine running.
- Quick check. We look at the battery for damage, leaks or swelling. A damaged battery should never be jump started.
- Safe connection.We connect through the car's battery or its dedicated jump-start points, in the correct order, using portable equipment. No second car needed.
- Start and settle. Once the engine is running, we let it settle before disconnecting.
- Test. We check the battery and the charging system, so you know whether the battery will hold or is likely to fail again.
If the battery has failed, we can replace it on the spot after you approve the fitted price.
Jump start or new battery?

Why use a technician rather than jump leads?
Jump starting looks simple, but modern cars are full of electronics, many batteries are in the boot or under a seat, and some cars have two batteries. A wrong connection can cause voltage spikes or sparks next to a battery that is giving off hydrogen. In a basement car park, there is often no room for a second car anyway.
If you do want to do it yourself, follow our guide to jump starting a car safely, and check your owner's manual first. If your car is stopped on a highway, your safety comes first: switch on the hazard lights, get out on the side away from traffic and call 999 if the car can't be moved.

Do you need another car to jump start mine?
No. Our technicians carry portable equipment, so we can jump start your car on its own, including in tight basement bays.
What if the jump start doesn't work?
Then the battery is too far gone, or the fault is elsewhere. We test to find out. If the battery has failed, we can replace it on the spot once you approve the price. If it is another fault, we tell you and can arrange recovery to your garage.
Will my battery be OK after a jump start?
Only if it was simply drained, for example by lights left on. A battery that went flat for no obvious reason, or that is more than two or three years old in Dubai, is often failing. That's why we test it after the jump.
Can you jump start a hybrid?
The high-voltage hybrid battery can't be jump started, only the 12V auxiliary battery, and only through the jump points the carmaker provides. Tell us it's a hybrid when you call so the technician comes prepared.
