Battery notes for Hyundai
- Models with Idle Stop and Go (ISG) need the right battery type. The Palisade owner's manual, for example, specifies a genuine Hyundai AGM battery.
- After a battery change on ISG models, the system may not work until the battery sensor recalibrates. Hyundai describes leaving the car switched off for about four hours, then starting it a few times.
- Some Hyundai hybrids use a lithium-ion 12V battery built into the hybrid battery pack, with a 12V Battery Reset button for when it runs low. That is not a conventional battery swap.
- Battery registration: Some models need the new battery registered with a diagnostic tool and others adapt on their own, depending on model and year.
